Senwes is looking for a Chief Accountant to provide effective financial and technical accounting support to Group Finance by coordinating the Group's financial reporting, consolidation, compliance, and reporting processes. This position will play a key role in ensuring accurate monthly, interim, and annual financial reporting while driving continuous improvement across Group Finance processes and maintaining compliance with IFRS and statutory requirements.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate the Group’s monthly financial reporting and consolidation processes.
- Coordinate and oversee interim and annual financial reporting.
- Analyse financial performance and business drivers, identify process and cost-saving opportunities, and implement improvements to enhance reporting efficiency and accuracy.
- Provide technical accounting guidance, monitor changes in accounting standards and legislation, and ensure compliance with IFRS, statutory requirements, and financial governance practices across the Group.
- Supervise, develop, and support finance employees.
- Support the delivery of Group Finance objectives.
Qualifications and experience: Relevant Bachelor’s degree. Registered CA(SA). Minimum 2 years' relevant post-articles experience. Experience with Group financial consolidations and financial reporting. Experience preparing financial statements in accordance with IFRS. Experience working with auditors and managing audit deliverables.
